Schools League
The annual Gauteng Schools League is held on Monday afternoons during February. These events are usually held on school properties. The League of four events culminates in a final inter-school challenge. School pupils assist with managing the start and finish areas. The Gauteng Schools League accommodates Grades 8 to 12.

The frenetic pace of the Monday afternoon events limits the time available to talk to and help those runners that want to learn more. For this reason, a pre-League introductory afternoon and weekly Saturday morning training sessions have been added to the 2010 schedule.
Another new addition to the 2010 Gauteng Schools League is an ‘Incentive Weekend’. Participants from the League are invited to spend a weekend at Bushtrails, a mapped orienteering venue in the Magaliesberg area. Here the runners are taught more advanced skills. This weekend is sponsored by SAOF.
The Gauteng Schools League is managed by Peter Hemer. He can be contacted at sailbad@telkomsa.net or 084 654 5510.
