Former long-time President of the SAOF, Ian Bratt, this year celebrates 40 years in Orienteering. In a fantastic gesture, Ian recently donated a full set of beautiful trophies for the South African Sprint Orienteering Championships. For a short, yet highly interesting synopsis of Ian’s 40 years in Orienteering, click here.
The first ever South African Sprint Orienteering championships were recently held at Pretoria Boys High School (click here for results). The various winners of the SA Sprint titles can now proudly display the trophies as reminders of their achievement. The SAOF thanks Ian for this magnificent set of trophies, which we are sure will contribute to the prestigious nature of the SA Sprint Championships.
Thanx Ian – awesome of you to do this – now i just need to get my name on one of them
A splendid achievement. Having started Orienteering in 1969 I can relate to the pleasure of having spent so many years involved in the sport. Unfortunately the body dictated otherwise!!
No doubt Ian will be the first M90 in SA to win a championship!!
