School Orienteering has gone from strength to strength in recent years and has now become a most competitive sport with top achieving schools being neck in neck for first position. Congratulations to all schools that took part this year.
The Gauteng Schools league has been running since 2000 and it is wonderful to see how it has grown in numbers as well as schools represented. This year pupils from 18 different schools participated. 433 athletes took part in at least one League event and the record number of participants was 381 competitors who completed courses at Parktown. We had an especially large group of 119 Junior Girls. Congratulations to Jeppe Girls who had so many athletes competing this year. We also had 30 Primary School pupils who bravely and most competently went out on our Junior Courses.
