In this time of Covid-19, when many sporting and travel restrictions are in place, the SAOF has decided to relax aspects of the our selection policy.
Over the past year there has been a reduction in the number of orienteering events and our provincial and national championships were cancelled. For these reasons, selection was based more on the discretion of the selection committee.
Instead athletes were invited to be members of the various SAOF squads. Membership of the squads will grant them access to whatever limited training opportunities are possible during this year.
The squads remain open during the year and if an athlete shows good commitment and form they can be added to the relevant squad during the course of the year.
